First Shoot _ Light

Proposal - Light Project

For my light project I am going to look at the camera obscura and make some images using this technique. I plan to make some images using the rooms in my house and possibly try and use the camera obscura to take pictures of the night sky in the rooms of my house if it is possible. With these images I want to show the harmony between the inside objects and the outside image like in Morell's images.I set out hoping to learn about the camera obscura and to hopefully do well at making the images.

I intend to make these images by using black rubbish bags to tape up all the windows in the rooms and make a hole in the middle of the bag so that only a small amount of light will be able to come through. I will then use the long exposure settings on my camera to take pictures of the images from the camera obscura.

I have chosen this idea as I think it is fasanating how light works and that only letting a small amount in the room will be able to make this image. My intended auidence is the photographics class and anyone else who will find this projection of light interesting. With these images I hope to show how amazing light is and what different forms it can take.

My intended output for this series is a series of 4-5 camera obscura images from the rooms in my house that are in colour.

Precidents - Anteroom by James Nizam

I like how Nizam used colour in his obscures and how the objects that were outside wern't necesserially that interesting but is framed and photographed well in the obscura.
