These are my final images that I chose for my project. I believe that they suit my concept well in my effort to preserve and formalize the memories that I have about my Grandad's boat-shed.

Mini World

My Miniworld.... I had trouble with some of the effects like trying to blend the stitching line as I'm not that much of an expert on Photoshop.  :)

Panorama 2

One of the Main problems taking this panorama was the difference in colour/light especially between the first and second pictures that were blended.

Panorama 1

This is my first Panorama of people doing archery outside Wellington.
Some difficulties I had come across is that Panorama's don't stitch together very well when the ground underneath you is not level. My first panorama was shot on a hill and that turned out horrible when I tried to stitch it together. Another difficulty was the difference in colour in some of my shots, i didn't know how to remedy that one. Also the panorama's were originally to big to load onto the blog so i had to end up cropping the picture so that the blog would accept it.

Proposal _ My own thinking on what I'm doing.

The space I chose to explore is my Grandad's boat shed. This small space is the "bridge" between my grandparents house, built in 1900 and Plimmerton Beach. I have very fond memories there, growing up nearby I visited the boat shed often. Although the boat shed had fond memories the shed is very old and housed alot of cobwebs, it was somewhere with alot of history and it gave off an airy/mysterious feeling. Photographically I wanted to capture the beauty and mystery of this place, of a place where others simply see an old shed.

Contact Sheets _ First Photo Shoot

These Contacts sheets are all the photo's from my first photo shoot. The strong light from the midday sun affected some photographs, so next time I'll shoot in a more ideal lighting conditions. Also the photos switch from portrait to landscape quite a bit. This was so I could try experiment which option was the best for the subjects I was shooting.  Once I decide which area's and shots to photograph for the final shoot I will use only portrait or only landscape shots.

Research_Rodney Graham

Rodney Graham's photography and use of space is very interesting. I liked the indoor environment and the positioning of his subjects.

The research of Rodney Graham, Mike Nelson and Stephan Shore was done at 303gallery.com

Research _Mike Nelson

I drew lots of inspiration from Mike Nelson's photography in my project as my location for shooting was allot like the location Nelson shot in. I was impressed how Nelson used the space in the location and the use of light in his shots.

Research _ Stephan Shore

Stephan Shore is a 20th century american photographer. I liked the composition of his shots and the use of space.
